choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. we will turn this responsibility over to them acts 6:3
what responsibility? - must have been something big - i mean they were specific in requiring men be chosen who were full of the Spirit of God - and wisdom
what would you guess - teaching? - a new church plant? - song-writing maybe? - nope - i'll tell you - are you ready? - it was the responsibility of caring for the widows - not what you expected huh?
but why not? - probably because there are some "ministries" we believe ourselves capable of handling without God's help - ouch!
why would they need God to serve widows? - there was already dispute about partiality - these men needed divine wisdom to deal justly - and bring peace - there was not an unlimited supply of resources - unless that is you are connected to God's resources through the His Spirit - then you have access to knowledge - faith - miracles - etc - see 1 corinthians 12:7-11 - and should the goal not always be to do ministry at the most awesome level possible?
this should be an example to every christian - in any position - or area of responsibility - with any spiritual task - in a ministry role - or support role - we need the Spirit of God to do it right!
ask Him for His Spirit to enable you to do your ministry in an awesome way - and expect it to happen!
