man i am blessed

picture this - walking the hallway of the hospital yesterday - trying to help my 18 month old grandson collin get to sleep - in the waiting room is his 3 year old sister brooklyn - and others of the family awaiting the arrival of macy - our new granddaughter

i was overwhelmed by the thought “man, i am blessed” - the next argument between my son and daughter will be over something like who holds the baby - nothing more serious

when i awaken each sunday morning - barring sickness - i know where they and their spouses and children are headed - every one of them

many dads can’t say half of that - see - i am blessed

for the last week my family has pulled together to care for and be with my mom and dad after she was rushed to the hospital - the closest we have come to a disagreement is over who was going to stay with them - not in the way you would think - everyone wanted to do as much as they could

i am blessed with a wife and two sisters-in-law who love my mom - almost as much as my brothers and i do - that says something about them - but also says a lot about my parents - and we are blessed with an extended family who fill in the holes we can’t get around to

so thank you God for my family - and thank you family for being there and being the people God made you!
