Interesting story about the Holy Spirit

There is an interesting story in Luke 2 just after Jesus is born. You can read it in its entirety by clicking here . When Jesus is 8 days old His parents take Him to the Temple to present Him to the Lord, kind of like a child dedication ceremony. When they get there an old man named Simeon takes the baby Jesus in his arms and speaks a prayer of praise for Jesus being sent to us. But here's the really cool part, three things said about him. The Holy Spirit was upon Simeon. The Holy Spirit revealed to Simeon that he would live to see the Messiah, Jesus. Coronavirus Is Not About Me

I’ve heard a lot of well-meaning folks lately talk down to those who are altering their lives and businesses because of the virus. Some have even questioned the faith of people who didn’t go to church last Sunday or the church leaders who made the decision to have online church only. If I may... When churches larger than 500 moved to online services only this past weekend, they were actually being obedient to Romans 13:1. By respecting the authority of civil government, our employers and other leaders, we are being obedient which is pleasing to God, we protect our own authority and we display the true humility of Christ-likeness. The Helper

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26 Jesus calls the Holy Spirit our Helper. He will teach us what to pray for, nudge us when to pray, remind us of things to pray and more. Just as changing prayer from monologue into dialog takes prayer to a next level, the help of the Holy Spirit will increase it even more! In the last few chapters of the book of John, just before Jesus leaves the earth, I count 22 things Jesus tells the disciples about the Holy Spirit that we need to know today. But most people ignore the Holy Spirit in the same way many of us ignore God's voice when we pray. Begin this week, begin today to seek His help!
