a thanksgiving opportunity

"what are you thankful for?"

that's what is on everyone's mind today - and this week - so it's one of those few times a year you can be openly thankful and not be considered corny - or over-emotional - you can freely exult without concern

so why not take advantage of the opportunity? what are you truly thankful for? i don't mean the stock answers - you know - good health - family - friends - not that those things aren't important - and not that we shouldn't be thankful for them - but surely you can elaborate

how has God blessed your health this past year? what is especially awesome about how God has blessed your family? what great friends are you truly thankful for? why? what specific situations or events make you a blessed person? don't forget to be thankful for how God did it - a mentor - a miracle - an unexpected event - your church - don't leave out your church - it's a great opportunity to invite your unchurched friends to experience for themselves everything God has done for you!

that's what others need to hear - that's what God deserves you tell others about - not a blank-minded afterthought of thanks - give it some thought - plan what you'll say - anticipate the chance - look for the opportunity - and take it!
