serious about restoring?

how serious are you? i mean about restoring someone - their life - their marriage - their soul

i was reading in the book of esther yesterday - chapter 3 verse 15 - it says "the king and haman took wine together: but the town of shushan was troubled"

wow - the town was troubled - the people of the town were troubled - just like the people of our communities! and where were the ones who could do something about it? the king and his #2 man? having a drink together - sounds like another instance of nero fiddling - how could a king drink while his town was troubled?

before you get on your high horse i have a question for you - if we use this as a spiritual mataphor then drinking - the enjoyment of wine - it would symbolize the Holy Spirit - being filled - being blessed - enjoying His Spirit within us - ouch!

while we sit in our churches on sundays - being filled with His Spirit - while we attend our groups and meetings - even the spiritual ones - especially the spiritual ones - because those who are only interested in church as a place to kill an hour are never going to be the solution - but while we sing - and pray - teach - and preach - our communities are troubled - ouch!

if our singing of God's awesomeness doesn't continue past the front doors of our church...

if our teaching - and preaching - never translates into sharing ourselves - our time - our blessings - with others in our lives and communities...

if our prayers for restoration of lives doesn't move our feet beyond the church steps - our voices beyond the church walls - our hearts to DO SOMETHING then it is all meaningless - or as paul said: "sounding brass" and "tinkling cymbals"

so the question isn't do you want God to restore lives - but where are you singing about His grace and goodness? figuratively speaking - you know - who hears your heart "sing" mon-sat? and with whom are you sharing anything? seriously - and i'm not talking about sharing with your kids or parents - see - the question is not what you wish for someone - nor what you hope happens in someone's life - the question is what are you doing about it!
