nehemiah - rebuilt the wall around jerusalem - not by himself - he had a lot of help - and those people that helped him? nehemiah said this about them:
the whole wall was joined together...for the people had a mind to work
people who set their heart to accomplish something awesome for God always do! God blesses things done for Him! name one time in history where someone tried something amazing for God - with a right motivation - not self-serving - and God turned His back on them - never happened
but today our churches are filled with those who just want to accomplish the mundane - attend church? check - give an offering? check - say a prayer? check - all good things - but then we rush out the door to join the rat race - or whatever particular race we are most drawn to - no time to do something awesome for God - i've got things to do - places to be - i've got a life to live - just like some other jews who lived near jerusalem while nehemiah was working on the wall
and when the Jews who lived near them (the enemy) came, they said to us ten times, 'you must return [to guard our little villages]; from all places where they dwell they will be upon us.'

these jews weren't building - they weren't working - they weren't helping - and they were worried - they complained to nehemiah - 10 times it says - that if he didn't stop building the wall and return to help protect them the enemy was going to attack them - nehemiah and his helpers would all be safe inside the wall - but these other jews wouldn't be safe because - well - they didn't - you know - live inside the wall
get the point? you need to choose - do something awesome - be someone awesome for God - by setting your heart to do it! or keep living your life - your way - and wait for the inevitable
