WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP TORNADO VICTIMS
PRAY
People have lost family members and treasures like family pictures and heirlooms. Others have lost that sense of security and safety. Those things can never be replaced. No amount of money or labor will bring them back. So those affected need our prayers as much as our giving and assistance.
Pray for peace. Pray that God will help those, especially children, who have lost family members. Pray that God connects them with the help they need. Pray for those who are missing to be found alive. Pray for the responders, emergency workers and relief teams going throughout the southeast. And pray for opportunity to have impact yourself.

This Sunday, May 1st, at Church 29:11, we'll be collecting donations for the relief efforts.
• In the morning services, we'll be receiving a special offering for disaster response. Write your checks out to "Church 29:11" and in the memo line put “Disaster Response."
• Another way you can help is by donating supplies. Items needed are bottled water (gallons are cheaper), gatorade, flashlights, batteries, baby bottles & food, diapers, wipes, blankets, soap, hand sanitizer, peroxide, sunscreen, gloves, trash bags, ready-to-eat snacks, bandaids, washcloths, paper towels, toothbrushes and paste, kids' underwear, battery-operated radios and ziplock gallon size bags. You can help by bringing any of those items to church with you this Sunday and we'll get them to distribution sites.

You may have heard the cautions given by the disaster relief teams. Don’t ignore them. They are the professionals and know what they are doing. But there are still many ways you can help, including the above. But if you are set on travelling to help with relief efforts, please read on:
Do not go into an area damaged by the storms unless you have the means to provide entirely for yourself – that mean food and shelter. Even then you must realize that local authorities may not be able to accommodate you. It's best to travel with an organization that has made arrangements with local authorities to participate in relief operations. We suggest contacting one of the above ministries to volunteer.
We are also taking food and water into some of the impacted areas. You may wish to volunteer for one of those teams. To connect with a distribution team, contact us HERE.
One of our sister churches, DayStar in Cullman, is already heavily involved in the relief effort. Those interested in helping the tornado victims in Cullman are encouraged call (256) 737-0800.
Would like to express my deepest "Thanks" to all my 29:11 family for the support of Restoration Relief Team. As you may know my familys hometown suffered a crushing tornado the same night as the ones that affected Alabama, my Uncles farm that I spent my teen years on was destroyed to the ground. Several cousins suffered severe damage and their were 7 fatalities in the community. It was very tough being away from my home in so much need and having to tend my former home which I love as well, so tough that it put me in the hospital with extreme exhaustion.A preacher friend of mine said "Cliff you tried to take care of everybodies house and you ignored Gods house which is you!" made me think and I have been taking a break for a week to try and get myself "restored". Again thanks for the chainsaw which we put to work immediately cutting a tree out of the road blocking a main highway, and the prayers which I have definately felt. Looking forward to getting back in Church this weekend and hopefully being able to develop a more steady schedule.Love you guys, Cliff
