exodus 20:4 you shall not make for yourself a carved image
sounds very similar to commandment #1 on worshipping other gods - the difference is God is also forbidding anyone to create anything to be worshipped - or build anything to be worshipped - and anything that can be built can also be worshipped - think about the kinds of things we build - or create
bank accounts - businesses - legacies - friendships - music - facades
and each one can be worshipped - it is wrong to worship something we create - but this commandment lets us know it is also wrong to build things so other people will worship them - or us for creating them
because as He continues to explain in verse 5 ...I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God...
so be careful of your motivation for the things you build and create in your life
