i once had a guy tell me that - the directions to his house ended with that phrase - of course i had to question why - he replied that he knew i couldn't ring the doorbell with my finger - my hands would be full - with the cake i would be bringing - or pie - he didn't really care - he just wanted to make sure i didn't come empty-handed
so does God - His Word says so
no one is to show up in the presence of God empty-handed (deuteronomy 16:16)
God doesn't care so much what - He just cares that we do - oh of course - He doesn't want us to be cheapskates - not when it comes to Him - He wants lavish praise
so bring Him something special this week - you should start preparing it now - stir up something extra this week in your heart - consider His sacrifice - for your sin - consider His goodness to you - and your family - consider His holiness
but He also deserves something special - just because
