i'm a bit of a sports nut - I've watched quite a few games - and interviews - I feel sorry for guys caught by the sideline reporter - before they even leave the field they're asked deep questions - about some existential part of the larger-than-life drama - unfolding right before the eyes of... - get the idea? these kids prepared for blitzes - for dime packages - they practiced double plays - pickoff moves - they aren't prepared to give an oral thesis on the combative spirit - the underlying themes of.. - oops - there I go again
so sometimes all they can do when asked such questions is spout a list of overused cliches - like "at the end of the day" - people seem to use it to recover from being lost in their thoughts - they rattle off a bunch of lines - then throw in "but at the end of the day" - they then tell us the most important thing they can think of
but why wait until the end of the day? is it not important enough to live by all day long? or attempt to accomplish all day long? if you don't begin strong and fall too far behind early you'll never catch up
monday night football this week - second half - brett favre led his team to 17 unanswered points - chicago scored another td - favre's team answered with a td - time expires - the teams were tied - and minnesota lost in overtime - they finished strong - very strong - but they began so poorly they could never get ahead
sometimes it can't be helped - in infancy or ignorance we make mistakes - mistakes that we must learn from - recover from - but no babes reading this message - few are ignorant of what they must do in 2010 to have a better year than 2009 - we know what will be important at the end of the day - and we know it's important right now too
start poorly in january - you'll spend months trying to get back to square one
but begin strong in january - you can build on success in february instead of failure - and again in march - get the idea?
family - church - prayer - bible - friends - service - charity - God - there is a year of opportunities ahead - 365 of them - imagine the possibilities if you make the most out of each one - your first one is already here - today - choose right now - choose today to begin strong!
