a friend of mine, Cecil Pagel, began an orphanage in Romania 7 years ago - if you have never heard you should research the horrible conditions there for orphans and abandoned children - just google romanian orphanages and you'll get an eyeful
the bread of life orphanage has literally rescued many kids from life on the streets - abandoned by their parents - some living in abandoned buildings - every day they have dozens of homeless children show up at their kitchen for a meal
but the economic downturn here in the states has negatively impacted them as well - many people and businesses have slowed their charitable giving - but i cannot just ignore hungry kids -can you?
for the next couple of weeks we are gathering non-perishable food items to be shipped to the orphanage - we invite you to join us
for more info you can visit their website at http://www.bolorphanage.org/ - for info on the food items that are needed, click on the link to the summer mini missions project - pass this info along and pray for them as well - they're doing a great work and need our help and prayers!

Hello Pastor Rick....
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across your blog tonight and was surprised to see that someone is helping us to promote the Food Project. You are right, these are tough economic times and God's people are stretched to pay the bills.
We are harvesting part of our crop this week but there are many needy families and elderly people who come to us daily asking for a little food. Our harvest is better this year than last year, but the number of street children has increased and our crops must be shared with more people. Well, our God has never known a crisis. It may feel like an emergency to us but He can still pull coins out of fishes mouths.
We now have a Bread of Life Orphanage group on Facebook. We post photos and updates every few days. We invite you and your congregation to check it out. You are all in our prayers daily.
I want to thank you for your faithfulness. You made a promise three years ago at the Texas Camp Meeting in Weatherford. I stood at the stage in front of the crowd and you came up to pray for me. In your prayer you told God that you would do all that you could do to help the orphanage and the children of Romania. May our Lord Jesus reward you and remember your sacrifices.
In Christian Love,
Cecil
